Weeknote 1

So here we are, my first ever weeknote. I’m going to try to get into the habit of publishing something every week, even if it’s only a few lines. I can’t promise it’s going to be good, or even interesting but it will be written by me.

The need for publishing something myself partly comes from starting on a new project at work, which is at an early stage. This means I’m doing more researching and learning and less writing and publishing so I thought I’d have a go here instead.

This week, I have got a better understanding of the processes and context of my work project. It still seems slightly overwhelming in places, but the big picture is fitting together more clearly. I’m hoping the details are partly in the nature of picking something up that others have worked on extensively before and trying to get your head around what is going on.

Outside of work, it was Parents Evening for two of our children’s classes this week. It was good to hear from the teachers how they’re doing and get an idea of what’s planned for the rest of the year. There was also a cross-country run at school. It was good to see the kids taking part, although it was colder than it looked standing on the side lines!

We had a Full Governors Board on Monday, which I chaired. We covered a lot of ground, but the meeting overran. I hope in future I might do a better job of keeping things to time.

This weekend, I’m looking forward to having some friends’ round. We’ve also just finished Fool me Once on Netflix so we’re in the market for a new thriller/drama to watch.
